Job summary

Essential Utilities, Inc. is seeking a Project Scheduler to assist in developing and maintaining master schedules for pipeline construction projects in the Pittsburgh area.

You will integrate plans, identify conflicts, monitor progress, and prepare status updates with the Project Management team, using Primavera P6, MS Project, and SAP.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and strong MS Office skills; occasional travel to project sites is expected.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other MS Office suite programs.
  • Multi-tasking, ability to prioritize, organize and schedule work.

Assists in the development and maintenance of master construction project schedules for use in the execution of pipeline construction projects. Monitors project progress providing feedback regarding schedule changes related to logistical constraints.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Assist with developing and maintaining schedules and integrated master schedules.
  • Integrate multiple project plans to a summary program portfolio plan.
  • Identify resource and schedule conflicts and constraints among multiple projects and inform stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress for assigned projects and provide weekly status updates and reports.
  • Identify schedule variances and opportunities and proactively develop mitigation strategies with the support of the Project Management team, track changes that affect the schedule.
  • Prepare presentation packages including scheduling and analysis graphics.
  • Under direction of the PM, assist with project specific tasks, reporting, meetings, and data entry.
  • Ability to support multiple projects and tasks at once.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, GIS or related field.
  • Ability to understand construction logic and sequencing.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Microsoft office suite programs.
  • Multi-tasking, ability to prioritize, organize and schedule work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or exposure in the construction industry strongly.
  • Experience producing and managing a resource/cost loaded schedule for the life cycle of a project from concept to engineering/design, to production and acceptance.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, MS Project or other scheduling software.
  • Experience in Enterprise Management Software and Resource Management Software, including SAP and MRS.
  • Have an understanding of policies, methods and procedures that include advanced planning and scheduling techniques. Earned value management, risk analysis, risk management and support of project objectives.
  • Professional certification in AACE, CMAA or PMI a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Limited travel to the various project or office locations within Pittsburgh and surrounding areas may be expected in this role.
