Job summary

Compliance Management International (CMI) in Oceanport, NJ seeks an experienced Construction Safety Specialist to oversee safety programs on a major construction project. You will conduct inspections, coach trades, review JHAs and permits, and ensure OSHA 1926 compliance in the field.

The role requires hands-on safety leadership, 3+ years of construction safety, OSHA 30-Hour, and strong knowledge of MEP risks, NFPA 70E, LOTO, and site-specific safety programs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience.
• Strong MEP construction safety experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards.
• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction required.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED

Responsibilities

• Provide daily construction safety oversight for contractors and subcontractors.
• Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and observations.
• Review JHAs/JSAs, Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), permits, toolbox talks and safety documentation.
• Coach trades and contractors on OSHA compliance and safe work practices.
• Monitor MEP, electrical safety, NFPA 70E, LOTO, fall protection, scaffolding, confined space, hot work, excavation, cranes, rigging, and material handling.
• Investigate incidents, injuries and near misses and track corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, client requirements, and site-specific safety programs.

Construction Safety Specialist

Oceanport, NJ | Full-Time | CMI

Compliance Management International (CMI) is hiring an experienced Construction Safety Specialist for a construction project in Oceanport, NJ. This is a long-term career opportunity for a hands-on EHS/Safety Professional with strong construction, MEP, OSHA compliance, and field safety experience.

What You’ll Do

• Provide daily construction safety / EHS oversight for contractors and subcontractors

What You’ll Bring

• Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as project needs require

• Preferred: CHST, STS-C, ASP, CSP, OSHA 500, NFPA 70E, or safety/EHS degree
