Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead construction safety and compliance oversight for capital projects, including site observations and inspections.
• Oversee implementation of safety plans, infection control measures, containment practices, and life-safety requirements.
• Coordinate with EH&S, Facilities, Infection Prevention, clinical stakeholders, consultants, and regulators; participate in design and permit reviews.
• Develop safety reporting, tracking, training, and documentation for the capital program and occupancy readiness.

Pay:$41.43 - $62.15 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary

Leads construction safety, life-safety, and healthcare compliance oversight across the capital program. Provides owner-side governance and coordination to support safe project execution in occupied healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

Lead construction safety and compliance oversight for capital projects, including site observations, inspections, and field reviews. Identify hazards and coordinate corrective actions with project teams and contractors.

Oversee implementation of project-specific safety plans, infection control measures, containment practices, and interim life-safety requirements. Support consistent application of healthcare construction safety standards.

Coordinate with Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities, Infection Prevention, clinical stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Participate in design reviews, permit reviews, and project coordination meetings involving safety and compliance.

Develop safety reporting, tracking, training, and documentation processes for the capital program. Support survey readiness, project closeout, occupancy readiness, and continuous safety improvement.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental health, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• Required Licensure/Certification: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification. Preferred: Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) training.
• 7 years of construction safety, healthcare compliance, construction management, or related experience, including experience supporting healthcare construction projects or complex occupied facilities.
