Job summary

Turner Construction Co. in Maryland seeks an Experienced EH&S professional to lead safety on a single construction project in Frederick, MD.

You will enforce EH&S programs, train site teams, and drive incident reduction while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and owner requirements. Responsibilities include developing site-specific safety plans, conducting audits, managing subcontractor safety programs, and reporting safety metrics to project leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field and minimum of 4 years of related construction safety experience
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment
• OSHA 30-hour training and CPR/First Aid/BBA certifications
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations
• Leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Travel required to project sites

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and enforce Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) on a single construction project
• Manage time and resource allocation and provide safety leadership
• Assess project safety practices and develop action plans to mitigate risks
• Communicate requirements to project leadership for adherence to EH&S policies
• Develop training for project site-specific needs on EH&S programs
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with regulations
• Review subcontractor safety programs and Pre-Task Plans
• Conduct safety audits and report violations and corrective actions
• Collaborate with project leadership to create safety reports and metrics
• Ensure log of toolbox safety meetings
