Job summary

ARCO Companies is seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across our Houston and national projects. You will train staff, conduct on-site coaching, and enforce safety policies in a fast-paced construction environment.

The role involves regular inspections, incident investigations, and collaboration with project teams. Frequent travel to job sites (2–3 days/week) is required, with expected qualifications including 5+ years in safety and a BS in Occupational Health & Safety.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Safety and Health Experience preferred.
• Prior Construction Experience is required.
• STS, CHST, CSP or similar certification preferred.
• Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence

Responsibilities

• Create and lead risk management training for office and field teams.
• Provide on-site safety training to superintendents, subcontractors, and associates.
• Attend preconstruction and project meetings as required.
• Lead weekly/monthly safety discussions in preconstruction and operations meetings.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and publish improvement reports.
• Collaborate with Superintendents, Project Managers, and subs to ensure safety compliance.
• Review engineered plans for safety hazards with Project Managers.
• Travel to 15+ job sites nationwide monthly to provide ongoing safety support.
• Conduct formal investigations into work-related incidents and determine root causes.
• Maintain knowledge of Local, State, and Federal safety regulations.
