Job summary

Terra Site Constructors, LLC, dba Terra Constructs, is seeking a hands-on Safety Professional to support the company’s safety program. The Safety Manager will be a contributor responsible for safety training and reporting across projects.

The role requires 5–7 years of construction safety experience, preferably in heavy civil. An Associates degree in a technical field and CHST certification are desirable, with bilingual Spanish considered a plus.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of safety experience in the Construction (Heavy Civil) industry.
  • Associates degree in a technical field; CHST certification desirable.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish desirable; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing Company Safety policies and practices.
  • Develop project site safety programs at startups.
  • Conduct safety training programs for all employees.
  • Investigate accidents and prepare incident reports with root-cause analysis.
  • Conduct safety audits on projects to identify hazards and propose fixes.
  • Coordinate safety and first aid/CPR training for employees.
  • Monitor return-to-work status and ensure timely treatment and clearance.

Terra Site Constructors, LLC, dba as Terra Constructs has a requirement for a hands‑on Safety Professional to support the company’s safety program.The Safety Manager will be an individual contributor who will be responsible for safety training and reporting.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists with development of Company Safety policies and practices.
  • Assists in developing project site specific safety programs at project startups.
  • Conducts Safety training programs for all employees of the company on an on-going basis.
  • Participates in project preplanning, progress, and relevant project related issues on Safety related matters.
  • Investigates accidents and/or injuries and prepares necessary documentation, including incident reporting, root cause analysis and recommends appropriate measures to eliminate or mitigate recurrence of the issues.
  • Conducts Safety audits on projects to identify, document and recommend solutions to potentially hazardous/unsafe work conditions.
  • Works with injured employees in need of medical attention and medical providers to ensure that the employee receives appropriate treatment and is returned to work at some capacity in a timely manner.
  • Monitors status of injured employees, return to work status, follow-up treatments/visits and ensures return to work (even in light duty status) as quickly as possible.
  • Conducts and coordinates safety and first aid/CPR training to educate employees about safety policies, laws, and practices.
  • Appraises safety performance, identifying areas for improvement, recognizing/rewarding safety practices identified by employees, addressing safety complaints, and resolving safety issues.

The successful candidate will have 5 – 7 years of experience as a Safety Professional in the Construction (Heavy Civil) industry.Preferably have an Associates Degree in a Technical field and have a relevant certification (CHST Desirable).Have well developed written and verbal communication skills (Bi-lingual Spanish desirable) and possess strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).
