Job summary

Safety Talent is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to oversee safety across projects in the Chicago area. You will work with project leaders, site teams and subcontractors to uphold compliance, reduce risk and foster high safety standards.

The role requires strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards, at least five years in the field, and the ability to lead inspections, risk assessments and training.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ construction safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience conducting inspections, investigations and training.
• Confidence influencing site teams, subcontractors and project leaders.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between projects.
• OSHA 500 or 510 and CHST, ASP or CSP certification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety activity across construction projects
• Develop and implement project-specific safety plans
• Complete site inspections, audits and risk assessments
• Advise project teams and subcontractors on safe working practices
• Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
• Deliver safety meetings, toolbox talks and training
• Monitor safety performance, reporting and OSHA compliance
• Promote a positive and accountable safety culture
