Job summary

Holder Construction in Ohio is seeking an Assistant Safety Director to join our Safety team on projects in Conesville, New Albany, and Franklin Furnace. This role provides leadership for safety planning, execution, and team development on complex construction projects.

The successful candidate will blend people leadership with technical safety skills, advancing toward subject‑matter expertise in high‑risk activities while supporting project teams in safe planning and field execution.

Qualifications

OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500 preferred.
BCSP certification (ASP, CSP, or CHST) required or in progress.
Experience leading safety on high‑risk construction activities (crane/rigging, LOTO, etc.).

Responsibilities

Lead safety planning and execution aligned with project goals.
Partner with project managers and superintendents to integrate safety into planning.
Develop, coach, and mentor Safety Coordinators and Senior Safety Coordinators.
Lead investigations and root cause analyses for incidents with corrective actions.
Support preconstruction planning to identify and mitigate risk for high‑risk activities.
Build strong relationships with project teams, trade partners, and clients.
Staffing, development, and performance of safety personnel.
