Job summary

John Burns Construction in Chicago is seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to elevate safety performance across our projects by enforcing programs, conducting inspections, and leading toolbox talks. You will partner with field operations to identify hazards and implement corrective actions, while mentoring crews and delivering safety trainings to promote a proactive safety culture.

3–5 years of construction experience and OSHA knowledge are essential, with electrical safety background preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
• Electrical safety background preferred in electrical construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Support and enforce project-specific safety programs and policies.
• Conduct jobsite safety inspections and audits.
• Lead safety training and toolbox talks.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective action plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and client safety requirements.
• Partner with field operations to identify and mitigate hazards before incidents occur.
