Job summary

WEC Business Services LLC, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, seeks a Safety Consultant to support field construction operations in Chicago. The role includes developing and delivering safety training, interpreting policies, and ensuring adherence to OSHA and workplace safety laws while traveling daily within the city.

The position reports within the Safety group, collaborates with business unit leaders and contractors, and emphasizes building relationships to promote a strong safety culture

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Safety or closely related discipline; combination of education, training/certification, and experience may be considered
• 3–5 years of safety experience on large construction projects; utility experience desired
• Experience with regulatory compliance, best practices, case management, and contractor oversight
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong interpersonal, relationship-building and leadership capabilities
• Familiarity with OSHA and workplace safety laws

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver construction safety programs and training
• Analyze safety regulations and implement corporate compliance strategies
• Review contractor safety performance and provide guidance to improve safety
• Audit and oversee contractor safety programs for effectiveness
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to promote safety culture across projects
