Utilize your strength as a Loader for us at our Kansas City, KS location. We are a wholesale distributor of building materials selling residential and commercial roofing products, and we are seeking a full-time Loader to work in a safe environment with positive people.

Opportunity for career advancement

The Rooftop Loader will support the Driver at the Branch by loading the truck and riding with the Driver to the job site to unload building materials safely and efficiently, both on the ground and on the roof.

The roofing materials will be unloaded onto the roof of the building, with attention paid to the Roofing Contractors’ needs and the homeowners’ property.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to join the Richards Family, become familiar with the Building Materials industry, learn new equipment and business operations, and grow with us as a driver, warehouse worker, operations staff, or salesperson.

Requirements:

1. Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. continually; some over 100 lbs.
2. Assist with loading products onto roofs.
3. Load trucks with scheduled materials, following DOT weight and safety regulations.
4. Assist in maneuvering delivery vehicles.
5. Provide excellent customer service.
6. Verify loads for accuracy and security.
7. Support warehouse operations including shipping and receiving.
8. Pull orders for walk-in customers.
9. Clean driving record.

Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. Ability to stand, bend, twist, and climb ladders throughout the shift.
3. Forklift experience preferred.
4. Roof experience preferred.
5. Willingness to work on roofs.
6. Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
7. Basic math skills and ability to read purchase orders.
8. Positive attitude and team player.
9. Adherence to safety policies, including use of safety harnesses.
10. Work Monday-Friday with potential overtime during busy seasons.
