Job summary

Freese and Nichols, Inc. seeks a Construction Representative/Inspector to join our Corpus Christi project team.

You will observe ongoing construction on transportation, water, and facilities infrastructure to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications. You will prepare daily reports, support document control, assist with preconstruction meetings, and coordinate with clients, contractors, and project managers to identify changes and resolve conflicts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant experience in the construction field serving as a construction representative or inspector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High School Diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction daily reports.
• Support other ongoing document control processes.

Job description

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Construction Representative/Inspector to join our team in Corpus Christi/Field.

As a Construction Representative you will be responsible for observing construction on a variety of transportation, water and/or facilities infrastructure projects to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications.

• Observe and inspect ongoing construction work to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specifications
• Prepare construction daily reports
• Support other ongoing document control processes
• Prepare for and assist with preconstruction meetings, progress checks, and conflict resolution
• Provide information to project manager/construction manager to help define the need for change orders, extra work and/or supplemental agreements
• Communicate with client, contractors, and other employees
• Read plan and specifications to be able to ensure construction is in accordance with plans and specifications

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years relevant experience in the construction field serving as a construction representative or inspector
• Valid and Active Driver License
• Excellent Written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree in related field
• Knowledge of a project management information system (Example e-Builder, Buzzsaw, FNI Manager, Site Manager, etc.)
• One or more of the following certifications: DOT technical certifications, ACI I, APWA certification, Level I NICET, or ENV SWPPP (Certifications may be considered in place of experience.)
