Job summary

Qualifications

  • 11 years managing and implementing quality control procedures required (HS).

Responsibilities

  • Define, communicate, and reinforce Construction Quality Plan requirements with the project management team.
  • Develop, issue, and maintain the Construction Quality Plan with project teams.
  • Collaborate with project management to implement key quality processes.
  • Provide strategic quality leadership to project teams from pursuit to closeout.
  • Coach, train, and mentor field quality personnel on the Construction Quality Management System.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the Construction Quality Management System.
  • Identify, document, and track non-conformances through final acceptance.
  • Review subcontractor Quality submittals and ITPs for compliance.
  • Ensure Special Processes are developed, reviewed, and executed by qualified personnel.
  • Communicate quality risks and improvement opportunities to project sites.
  • Promote tracking and reporting of quality metrics for performance monitoring.
  • Confirm turnover documentation reflects project scope for closeout.
  • Act as liaison with Jurisdictional Authorities and Inspection Agencies.
  • Perform hands-on site assessments and field audits to verify system implementation.
  • Support Root Cause Investigations and Corrective Actions.
  • Comply with Safety & Health requirements and related standards.
  • Contribute to Task Safety Observations and corrective actions.
  • Oversee quality programs across field locations to ensure regulatory compliance.

Description

The Construction Quality Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight of the Construction Global Practice (GP) Quality Management System (QMS) for Design-Build construction projects executed across multiple locations. This role assures that construction activities are planned, executed, inspected, tested, and documented in full compliance with construction practices and the contract documents.

The Construction Quality Manager partners closely with project leadership, engineering, clients, subcontractors, and quality personnel to integrate quality throughout the project lifecycle, from pursuit and project set-up through construction and final turnover, while proactively mitigating risk and promoting continuous improvement.

  • Define, communicate, and reinforce Construction Quality Plan requirements with the project management team.

  • Actively develop, issue, and maintain the Construction Quality Plan, working directly with project teams to support and guide its development in accordance with project specifications, codes, and jurisdictional requirements.

  • Collaborate with the project management team to implement key processes and application methods.

  • Provide strategic quality leadership to project teams, supporting quality integration from pursuit through project closeout.

  • Coach, train, and mentor field quality personnel on the Construction Quality Management System, including required quality verifications to ensure compliance with project specifications.

  • Drive continuous improvement of the Construction Quality Management System through recommendations and system enhancements.

  • Confirm conditions adverse to quality are identified, documented, dispositioned, tracked, and closed through final acceptance.

  • Review and confirm compliance of subcontractor Quality submittals and Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's) and project specifications.

  • Confirm Special Processes (i.e., welding, heat treatment, nondestructive testing, etc.) are developed, reviewed, and executed, using qualified personnel, to meet the project specifications.

  • Proactively communicate quality risks, issues, and improvement opportunities to project sites without onsite support and elevate concerns to the project management team as needed.

  • Promote consistent tracking and reporting of quality metrics to support performance monitoring and continuous improvement.

  • Confirm turnover documentation is complete and accurately reflects project scope and execution for successful closeout.

  • Act as a liaison between the Project Manager and Jurisdictional Authorities and Authorized Inspection Agencies.

  • Perform hands-on site assessments and field audits to confirm effective implementation of the Construction Quality Management System.

  • Participate and support the Root Cause Investigations and Corrective Action resolution process.

  • Comply with all Safety & Health requirements and monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to safety standards.

  • Participate in the Task Safety Observations (TSO's) process and define corrective measures for problem areas.

  • Provide leadership and oversight of the implemented quality programs at field locations to confirm consistent compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and 11 years managing and implementing quality control procedures required.

  • Or Associate Degree in Engineering, Construction, Welding Technology, Nondestructive Examination or related field and 9 years managing and implementing quality control procedures required.

  • Or Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction, Welding Technology, Nondestructive Examination or related field. and 7 years managing and implementing quality control procedures required.

  • Familiar with multi-disciplined work scopes (i.e., civil, concrete, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, etc.)

  • Familiar with Power Renewables( e.g., Solar, Battery Storage etc.) work scopes.

  • Must be detailed oriented.
