Insight Global is seeking a Construction QC Manager to provide support and oversight on federal projects in Beaufort, SC. This role balances field and office work 50/50 and collaborates with project managers, superintendents, and engineers to implement the client's QMP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR 10+ years of QC-focused experience without a degree.
• Direct QC Manager-level experience required; candidates whose background is primarily Project Management are not a fit.
• Experience with submittal reviews, commissioning and MEP acceptance, and document reviews.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain quality control procedures and standards for the project.
• Inspect and review projects; monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and ensure materials and workmanship meet project specifications.
• Perform tests to detect discrepancies and ensure quality.
• Investigate issues: troubleshoot any reported issues with quality of work and materials.
• Oversee the training and management of quality control personnel.
• Ensure proper documentation of all QC efforts and maintain project records.
• Review contract documents for constructability and accuracy; train project teams accordingly.
• Understand and extract critical quality elements from construction documents to support QMP development.
• Collaborate with project teams to schedule inspections and lead inspection walks.
• Lead portions of quality-related project meetings to support QMP quality health of the project.
• Lead by example with quality planning and inspection of work in place; track conformances and non-conformances.

Insight Global is seeking a Construction QC Manager to provide support and oversight of project teams implementing our client’s Quality Management Plan (QMP) on federal projects in Beaufort, SC. This role would support construction projects around $20 million. The Construction QC Manager should be comfortable working 50/50 both in the field and in an office setting. The role requires working together with project managers, superintendents, and engineers to form an effective approach to quality management on behalf of their clients. Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain quality control procedures and standards for the project.
• Inspect and review projects; monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and ensure that all materials and workmanship meet project specifications
• Perform tests to detect discrepancies and ensure quality
• Investigate Issues: Troubleshoot any reported issues with the quality of work and materials
• Oversee the training and management of quality control personnel
• Ensure proper documentation of all quality control efforts and maintain project records
• Review contract documents and other project documents for constructability and accuracy. Help train project teams to do the same.
• Understand, critically analyze, and extract critical quality elements from construction documents, submittals, etc. in support of developing QMPs.
• Collaborate with project teams to establish roles and responsibilities for scheduling inspections, managing the inspection process, and participating in and leading inspection walks.
• Participate in and lead portions of quality-related project meetings including, but not limited to, pre-installation meetings, preconstruction meetings, kick-off meetings, mock-up review meetings, first-work inspections, subcontractor weekly syncs, specification reviews, owner progress meetings and others as deemed necessary to provide support and oversight of the QMP and the quality health of the project.
• Lead by example with quality planning and inspection of work in place, support the managing, documenting, and tracking of conformances and non-conformances.
• Interface with architect, engineers, and owner representatives along with project teams to ensure understanding of and compliance with quality requirements and expectations.
• Review the effectiveness of project teams at implementing and executing each quality management plan and be able to communicate with project teams and regional leadership on the quality health of projects and offer suggestions for improvement.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR
• 10+ years of experience without a degree, with experience primarily focused in Quality Control (QC)
• Must have direct QC Manager-level experience; candidates whose background is primarily Project Management are not a fit
