Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc is seeking a Construction (QA) Inspector for the Tyndall AFB project. Location: Panama City, FL (Tyndall AFB) with duties including daily inspections, report submission, and QA oversight of federal construction contracts.

Responsibilities include reviewing change orders and submittals, ensuring conformance to plans, and monitoring contractor quality systems. Requires 10+ years of federal project experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED minimum; construction-related degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of applicable experience on large federal projects; DoD preferred.
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, roofing, and general building construction.
  • Army Corp of Engineering (USACE) preferred.
  • Experience using RMS 3.0, preferred.
  • Experience with three-phase inspection process.
  • OSHA and EM 385-1-1 knowledge preferred.
  • Must read contract drawings and specifications; strong communication skills.

  • Perform daily inspections and submit reports on federal facilities for workmanship, materials, installation, and construction methods.
  • Provide recommendations to government personnel regarding contract plans and specifications.
  • Monitor contractor’s quality system and administer the three-phase inspection process.
  • Provide surveillance at construction sites and assist owner in problem resolution.
  • Review change orders, modifications, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Review contractor payment requests for accuracy.
  • Verify accuracy of as-built drawings.
  • Ensure QA and safety plans are followed by the contractor.

Job Title: Construction (QA) Inspector

Work Location: Panama City, FL (Tyndall AFB)

Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview

REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a Federal Background Review and drug screen

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Perform daily inspections and submit reports on construction projects at federal facilities for compliance with contract, design documents, plans and specifications in regard to workmanship, materials, installation and construction methods.
  • Provide recommendations or necessary changes to government personnel regarding contract plans and specification relative to all phases of construction.
  • Monitor contractor’s quality system and administer the three-phase inspection process.
  • Provide surveillance at construction sites and assist owner in problem resolution.
  • Deliver and review change orders; modification; RFIs; and submittals.
  • Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment.
  • Verify accuracy of as-built drawings.
  • Review and ensure QA and safety plans are adhered to by the contractor.
Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED minimum; Construction related degree, preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of applicable experience on construction projects large complex multimillion dollar federal projects, Department of Defense preferred
  • Experience with wide range of trades including, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, roofing, and general building construction
  • Army Corp of Engineering (USACE), preferred
  • Experience using RMS 3.0, preferred
  • Experience with three-phase inspection process
  • Experience with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual, preferred
  • Demonstrate proficiency and effective communications skills in the English language in both oral and written forms
  • Must have knowledge of building and construction crafts since detailed inspections must be made to ensure the required level of workmanship
  • Must be capable of reading contract drawings and specifications
  • Interaction with clients and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
Physical Requirements
  • Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
  • Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
