Overview

We’re looking for a CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER - TRAVELING to join our dynamic team working across the USA and internationally.

Summary

The Construction Project Manager - Traveling must lead and manage the successful execution of assigned projects, achieving scope, schedule, and financial requirements. The role includes managing the project team, planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting construction activities, and ensuring compliance with corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Construction Quality Control policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage construction and design/build proposals, including planning, estimating, scheduling, subcontracting, technical and management approach, past performance, and HSE and Quality compliance.
• Prepare baseline performance plans and develop metrics for assigned projects, including baseline costs and planned gross margin, baseline schedule and milestone dates, and projected cash flow.
• Financial performance and reporting of assigned projects, including monthly forecasting, managing commitments, and monitoring costs incurred. Deliver the project for as‑bid gross profit or more.
• Safety performance: ensure compliance with corporate policy and site‑specific health and safety plan, incident reporting, and corrective actions; maintain a zero‑tolerance environment on site.
• Quality performance: ensure contract documents are adhered to and the delivered project meets contractual and design requirements.
• Client management: keep owners informed, resolve open issues promptly, and ensure owner satisfaction to drive repeat work and positive references.
• Lead project team in pre‑qualification, selection, and contracting of design professionals, directing the design process and monitoring progress to meet design, budget, and schedule goals.
• Lead project team in pre‑qualification, selection, and subcontracting of construction trade subcontractors and in procuring vendor equipment as needed.
• Develop and implement a project risk register and change order log to identify, track, and mitigate potential risks to project completion.
• Obtain necessary permits, environmental approvals, and licenses required for construction.
• Mentor and manage the project team, proactively resolving conflicts.
• Promote a partnering environment with owners, supervisory personnel, contractors, and designers to resolve work procedures, RFIs, changes, and other issues.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent. Five years of industry experience and PMP or CCM certification may substitute for the degree.
• Minimum of 5 years as a Project Manager or Construction Manager.
• Strong leadership skills that demonstrate capability to lead a team to achieve project vision, goals, and objectives.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with clients.
• Knowledge of built‑environment infrastructure, including buildings and infrastructure.
• Experience encompassing all life‑cycle phases: planning, design management, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and closeout.
• Understanding of critical‑path method scheduling and ability to direct a planner/scheduler in building a CPM schedule.
• Understanding of Earned Value management procedures.
• Experience managing cash flows, budgets, and project controls (cost, schedule, budget, procurement, document control).
• Experience managing general contractors and trade subcontractors.
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) from CMAA – plus.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification – plus.

Physical Requirements

• Navigate and move around the construction site, including walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding, and standing for extended periods on uneven surfaces.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Handle tools, equipment, and perform tasks requiring coordination and manual skills.
• Manual dexterity, hearing, mental acuity, typing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.
• Operate a motor vehicle.
• Stand and sit for periods longer than 30 minutes but not to exceed two hours consecutively.
• Print and draw legible letters, numbers, words, characters, and symbols.
• Learn complex tasks and remember their completion once trained.
• Control behavior under stressful situations or tight deadlines; maintain high concentration.
• Quick thinking and decision‑making ability to address issues and challenges during construction.
• Endurance to work in various weather conditions and handle physical demands of supervising a construction project.

• Adhere to personal protective equipment requirements (hard hats, safety vests, steel‑toed boots).

Salary Range: $92,000 - $170,000 DOE
