Job description

Construction Project Manager – Reconstruction

Location: Flowood / Jackson, MS
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 Base + Quarterly Performance Bonus

Own the Project. Solve the Problems.

Are you a construction project manager who likes being in the field, working with subcontractors, solving problems, and seeing a project all the way through completion?

We're partnering with an established property restoration and reconstruction company in the Flowood/Jackson area to hire a Reconstruction Project Manager to oversee residential and commercial reconstruction projects following property damage.

This is a true cradle-to-grave project management role. You'll own projects of all sizes - from a $5,000 residential repair to a significant commercial or large-loss reconstruction - and be responsible for keeping the customer, subcontractors, schedule, budget, and project moving forward.

If you know construction, we can teach you restoration. Experience in insurance restoration is valuable, but we're equally interested in strong construction professionals who understand how to manage trades, schedules, budgets, customers, and job sites.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of reconstruction projects and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage residential and commercial reconstruction projects from initial scope through final completion
  • Oversee a portfolio totaling approximately $1M in annual reconstruction revenue
  • Manage projects ranging from small repairs around $5,000 to $200K+ large-loss reconstruction projects
  • Visit job sites regularly to monitor progress, workmanship, schedules, and subcontractor performance
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and trade partners
  • Review project scope and identify construction needs in the field
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, change orders, documentation, and closeout
  • Communicate regularly with homeowners, business owners, insurance professionals, and other project stakeholders
  • Address customer concerns quickly and professionally
  • Hold subcontractors accountable for schedules, quality, and project expectations
  • Complete job-site inspections and ensure work meets company and industry standards
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, photos, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure OSHA and company safety standards are followed
  • Complete punch-list items and drive projects through final sign-off and payment
  • Learn and utilize restoration technology and software such as Xactimate, DASH, Symbility, Matterport, and related systems
This Role Is Different From Some Construction PM Positions

We want to be transparent about how this team operates.

You own your projects.

This is not a role where a dedicated superintendent is assigned to each project while you manage everything from the office. You'll personally coordinate your subcontractors, visit your job sites, monitor progress, communicate with customers, solve problems, and drive the project to completion.

You'll also manage projects of every size. Large-loss experience is valuable, but the right person doesn't need a large project to stay engaged. A $5,000 repair deserves the same ownership and customer experience as a $500,000 reconstruction.

This is also a subcontractor-driven model. You should come with an established network of reliable local tradespeople who are willing to take on both smaller repairs and larger reconstruction projects.

If you're someone who says, "It's my project—I'll figure out what needs to happen and get it done," you'll likely thrive here.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Strong construction experience with project management responsibilities
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple trades
  • Established relationships with subcontractors/trades in the Jackson, MS market
  • Ability to manage both small and large construction projects
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and quality
  • Ability to read construction plans and blueprints
  • Strong scheduling, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer communication skillsComfortable spending significant time in the field
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership without needing constant direction
  • Flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, and participation in an on-call rotation as needed

Highly Preferred:

  • Residential remodeling or reconstruction experience
  • Insurance restoration/reconstruction experience
  • Commercial construction experience
  • Experience managing large-loss projects
  • Xactimate or Symbility experience
  • Experience working with insurance adjusters and property claims
Your Construction Background Could Come From...

We're open to strong construction professionals whose experience translates to reconstruction.

You may currently be a:

  • Construction Project Manager
  • Residential Project Manager
  • Remodeling Project Manager
  • Restoration Project Manager
  • Reconstruction Project Manager
  • General Contractor
  • Construction Superintendent with project management experience
  • Custom Home Project Manager
  • Insurance Restoration Project Manager

What matters most is that you understand construction, know how to manage people and projects, and take ownership of getting the job done.

What Success Looks Like

Within this role, you'll be someone who:

  • Treats a $5K project with the same ownership as a $500K project
  • Builds and maintains a dependable network of subcontractors
  • Knows what's happening on your job sites because you're regularly there
  • Keeps customers informed—even when the conversation is difficult
  • Holds subcontractors accountable while maintaining strong working relationships
  • Anticipates problems instead of waiting for someone else to solve them
  • Keeps projects moving, documented, and financially on track
  • Can shift priorities when an urgent situation arises
  • Takes pride in closing projects completely and correctly
Why This Opportunity?

Property restoration is different from traditional construction. Customers aren't always choosing to renovate or build—they may be recovering from a fire, flood, storm, or another unexpected event.

That means great project management matters.

You will have the opportunity to combine your construction knowledge with strong customer relationships while helping homeowners and businesses put their properties back together.

You also join an established organization where there is plenty of work, variety in your projects, and an opportunity to directly impact the success of the reconstruction operation.

If you're looking for a Construction Project Manager opportunity in the Jackson/Flowood area where you can own your projects, work in the field, and use your construction experience to make a tangible impact, we'd love to hear from you.
