The Construction Project Manager will also support overall project operations from pre‑construction through completion, managing safety, quality, schedule, cost, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, documentation, and client relationships. This role is intended to contribute to both project success and the long‑term growth of the Mining & Minerals business.

What You Will Do:

  • Review and modify existing OSHA Safety & Health programs for compliance with MSHA programs.
  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities for a single large project or multiple small to medium projects, ensuring safe, timely, cost-effective, and high-quality execution.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, constructability planning, risk reviews, and establishment of critical project objectives.
  • Support pursuit, proposal, and execution efforts by managing client relationships, interfacing with stakeholders, and participating in contract, subcontract, and change order negotiations.
  • Implement the Project Execution Plan, including construction execution, quality assurance, safety, subcontracting, staffing, procurement, site logistics, turnover, and closeout planning.
  • Develop staffing plans, onboard and mentor project and craft supervision teams, coordinate multiple disciplines, and support efficient resource utilization.
  • Direct subcontractor and client contractor procurement, including RFP development, scope preparation, bidder evaluation, award recommendations, and contract administration.
  • Manage project controls and reporting, including budgets, forecasts, schedules, cost reporting, field progress, earned value, change management, financial metrics, and closeout activities.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, commissioning, startup, supplier, client, and field teams to support deliverables, materials management, construction execution, and project completion.
  • Oversee contract administration, including RFIs, submittals, change management, invoicing, documentation, claims mitigation, compliance requirements, and contract closeout.
  • Verify permits and contract requirements, and review documents and field reports to confirm compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and performance obligations.
  • Perform and support safety, quality, progress, financial, documentation, non-conformance, and compliance audits and assessments.
  • Manage construction labor planning, including building trades relationships, project labor agreements, staffing, labor burdens, craft classifications, training standards, crew rates, install unit rates, and labor/equipment forecasting.
  • Manage construction equipment planning and inventory to support project execution needs.
  • Support communication with governmental, industry, public, community, and building trades stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback for interns, construction coordinators, craft supervision, assistant construction project managers, and other project team members.
  • May be assigned to a project site based on project requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field and 7 years relevant construction or project management experience in the mining and construction industry.
