Job description

FindTalent is seeking an experienced and driven Construction Project Manager II/III to join a dynamic team in Richmond, VA. This role is pivotal in overseeing complex construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage specific aspects of construction projects, including technical, cost, quality, and scheduling components.
  2. Oversee project budgets and timelines, ensuring alignment with defined scopes and objectives.
  3. Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and vendors to facilitate seamless project execution.
  4. Support the planning, execution, and commissioning of projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational requirements.
  5. Conduct system walkdowns, punch list management, and documentation to ensure successful project turnover.
  6. Provide regular reports on project status, risks, and key milestones to senior management and stakeholders.
  7. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices in project management processes.
  8. Play a key role in large-scale infrastructure projects, including renewable energy initiatives and Small Modular Reactors (SMR).
  9. Ensure proper implementation of EPC contracts and procurement agreements to support field operations and efficiency.
  10. Support construction teams in delivering high-quality projects that meet operational and regulatory standards.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  1. Construction Project Manager II: Minimum of 3 years of experience managing complex construction projects.
  2. Construction Project Manager III: Minimum of 5 years of experience leading large-scale and high-impact construction projects.
  3. Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.
  4. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coordinate resources, and manage risks effectively.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  6. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  7. Experience in managing construction, engineering, or utility projects with strict compliance requirements.
  8. Ability to oversee multiple projects, ensuring quality and adherence to safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience in power generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
  2. Knowledge of energy markets and large-scale utility infrastructure.
  3. Certifications such as EIT, PE, PMP, or PMI-CP are highly desirable.
  4. Experience with scheduling, budgeting, and risk analysis for complex projects.
  5. Background in regulatory compliance, contract administration, and vendor management.
Education Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licenses/Certifications:
  1. Required: GWO Certification for roles supporting Offshore Wind projects.
  2. Preferred: EIT, PE, PMP, PMI-CP certifications.
Working Conditions:
  1. Office Work Environment: 76-100% of the time.
  2. Travel: 26-50% as needed for site visits and project meetings.
  3. Exposure to outdoor conditions including cold and heat (26-50% of the time).
