Job description

Construction Project Manager

Control Systems NW (CSNW), a subsidiary of RH2 Engineering is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead and manage projects where CSNW serves as both a Prime Contractor and Subcontractor. This role is responsible for full project lifecycle execution — from planning and scheduling through construction, startup, and closeout — ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with client expectations. This role requires an experienced professional capable of independently managing construction contracts, advising clients, resolving field issues, and coordinating closely with design teams and contractors. The position is client-facing and emphasizes construction administration, quality assurance, and risk management rather than self-performed construction.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and preferably possesses some experience in electrical, controls, or systems integration projects, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain strong relationships across clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

What you’ll do:
Project Execution & Management (Prime & Subcontractor Roles)
  • Lead project execution for CSNW in both Prime Contractor and Subcontractor capacities.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules.
  • Prepare for and administer construction meetings, including documentation and follow-up.
  • Manage and track RFIs, change orders, and submittals to ensure timely resolution and project continuity.
  • Coordinate permitting activities and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with CSNW Admin to oversee prevailing wage compliance tracking and documentation.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, startup, and training activities.
  • Provide on-site construction oversight to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to contract documents.
  • Track, coordinate, and inspect equipment procurement and deliveries.
  • Review project milestones and progress with clients and customers.
  • Manage project budgets and maintain cost control throughout execution.
  • Manage project expectations and proactively communicate risks and solutions.
  • Optimize and manage CSNW staff utilization across assigned projects.
  • Maintain strong coordination with contracting teams when CSNW is serving as a subcontractor.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with prime contractors and clients.
Subcontractor Management (When CSNW is Prime Contractor)
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractor on-site activities.
  • Review and administer subcontractor RFIs, change orders, and submittals.
  • Review and approve subcontractor pay applications.
  • Monitor and enforce safety compliance on project sites.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractor partners.
  • Ensure subcontractors meet project quality, schedule, and performance requirements.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Provide regular project performance feedback to CSNW/RH2 Engineering leadership.
  • Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and improve operational performance.
  • Support company-wide initiatives focused on improving execution efficiency, quality, and profitability.
What you’ll bring:
  • Minimum 10 years of construction project management experience, preferably for municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited four‑year institution — or equivalent industry experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience with alternative delivery methods (Design‑Build, CM/GC, Progressive Design‑Build, etc.).
  • Previous background in electrical systems, industrial controls, automation, or systems integration preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.
  • Experience working on public works projects and prevailing wage compliance.
  • Have valid driver’s license with vehicle and ability to drive between CSNW office and project site locations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Perform a mix of office and active construction site work.
  • Regular site visits required; occasional night or weekend work may be necessary depending on project schedules.
  • Sit or stand at a desk for several hours to perform work in an office setting.
  • Ability to Lift 40 lbs. with or without accommodations.
Compensation Counts:

CSNW has an excellent multi‑component compensation package built to recognize and financially reward our employees’ contributions throughout their career with the company. Individual base compensation will vary within the range of $55.00-$75.00/hour based on skills, qualifications, and experience as they relate to the requirements for this position. CSNW values our employees’ work/life balance and compensates for overtime at 1.5 times the base rate for hours exceeding 40 regular hours in a work week. This position is eligible for CSNW’s performance bonus, which is equivalent to one month’s pay. The bonus is paid mid‑year at 50% and year‑end at 50%.

Benefits you’ll enjoy:
  • Health & Wellbeing – 100% paid insurance premiums for medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, and an employee assistance program (EAP) employee coverage. Two buy‑up medical plans are available, and low‑cost partner and dependent coverage offered.

  • Savings Plans – 401(k) retirement plan with pre‑tax and after‑tax contribution options, generous employer 401(k) match, employer profit sharing contribution, employer Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) contribution, HSA with an annual employer contribution, FSA, and dependent care FSA available.
