Job summary

NES Fircroft is representing a well established engineering and automation company seeking a Construction Project Manager. The role involves leading automation projects from kickoff through closeout and serving as the primary on-site client contact in a travel‑heavy environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–8 years of PM experience in construction/engineering/automation with strong client facing skills and the ability to manage budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of relevant project management experience.
• Background in construction, engineering, automation, controls, manufacturing or related technical field.
• Experience managing complex projects from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of BMS, EPMS, electrical systems, automation and controls.
• Solid knowledge of project budgets, schedules, forecasting and cost control.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced field environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in data centers and mission-critical environments.
• PE is preferred but not required.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands on with projects, working directly with clients, and leading complex automation projects from kickoff through closeout.

Location: West Texas / Lubbock or Dallas

Travel: Up to 100% depending on project needs

What you’ll be doing

• Lead automation projects from initiation through closeout
• Own project safety, quality, schedule, scope, and financial performance
• Manage budgets, forecasting, scheduling, and cost control
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the client on site
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and project teams
• Troubleshoot complex automation and controls issues
• Support proposals, technical presentations, and business development
• Build strong client relationships and help drive repeat business
• Lead and mentor engineering and project teams
