Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee projects across manufacturing and non-manufacturing sites, from funding to occupancy. You will organize teams, manage schedules, budgets, and safety contracts while coordinating with engineers, finance, and contractors.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and organize project teams consisting of multi-discipline members from engineering, finance, purchasing, safety, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage changing priorities and construction schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Identify and solve schedule problems using rigorous analysis and proactive thinking.
  • Coordinate activities with key stakeholders and other disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor budgets, change orders, and contract requirements throughout the project.

Possesses the ability to decide and act without having the total picture, can handle multiple and concurrent diverse projects with minimal direct supervision, and can coordinate activities with key stakeholders and other disciplines.* Employ rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult schedule and construction problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers; can see hidden problems; is excellent at honest analysis; looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answers.* Identify future issues related to construction schedules utilizing broad knowledge and perspective related to construction activities.
