Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Contractor Project Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion.

Ideal Candidate
  • A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least five years of experience in the commercial construction industry, overseeing ground‑up projects in healthcare, financial, and light industrial sectors.
  • Ability to manage more than two projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, managing multiple teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project reporting software, MS Office, and blueprint reading.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, proactive and results‑oriented.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites (up to 30% travel).
  • Computer literacy and basic experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the project budget, write contracts, approve invoices, and update the project schedule.
  • Coordinate among subcontractors and resolve any issues or conflicts during the job.
  • Organize, process, and distribute pertinent project documents.
  • Create the project schedule and develop short‑interval schedules for weekly coordination meetings.
  • Expedite documents and material/equipment deliveries to meet the schedule.
  • Maintain cost control data and produce cost reports.
  • Maintain relationships with customers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and employees.
  • Implement and track LEED requirements.
  • Administer document control for shop drawings, submittals, subcontracts, purchase orders, insurance certificates, RFIs, plans, specifications, warranties, bonds, change order requests, and back charges.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals to verify compliance with contract documents.
  • Process subcontractor payments and vendor invoices.
  • Attend project‑related meetings and assist with preparation and dissemination of minutes and attendee rosters.
  • Write weekly reports with notes from the superintendent.
  • Manage close‑out procedures and activities.
  • Ensure safety rules and regulations are followed at the project site.
Physical Demands
  • Typically works in an office environment, uses a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Requires sitting 70% of the time, walking 15%, and standing 15%.
  • May use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to use stairs for fire drills and emergencies.
Work Environment

The noise level is typical of an office. Individuals may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
