Summary

Our client is a leading construction firm specializing in fast-paced commercial, industrial, healthcare, retail, and government projects across California and the Western U.S. The team is built on strong relationships, integrity, and excellence, and invests in employees for long-term growth and career advancement.

This team is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver outstanding results.

  • This person will travel, at company cost, to work sites across the western US, and be available, onsite, during core work hours on weekdays for the duration of each project (3-5 months on average). The company will provide a $250 per-diem for lodging and food near the work site, and will pay for occasional travel back home, depending on the travel distance. All attempts will be made to coordinate employee home locations with the closest possible job sites to reduce overall time spent commuting. In some cases, the job site may be within easy driving distance of an employee's home, making a daily commute viable. Details will vary per employee and specific client contract / geography. Employees may choose to supplement these travel plans with more frequent employee-paid visits back home, understanding the work is based onsite at the project location most business days of the week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all project operations, serving as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure project success and profitability.
  • Ensure safety compliance, acting as the onsite Project Safety Officer and enforcing company policies.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and vendors, reviewing submittals and ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Monitor and adjust project schedules, resolving any delays or challenges proactively.
  • Oversee project documentation, including subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and closeout materials.
  • Provide regular progress reports, including cost tracking, schedule updates, and labor projections.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of project management experience, preferably in commercial construction
  • Ability to interpret project plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability skills
  • Willingness to travel and remain onsite for the duration of projects
  • IDEAL: Certified Project Manager (CPM) credential
  • IDEAL: Experience with fast-paced commercial projects (e.g., retail, warehouse facilities)

Why Join The Team

  • Industry Leadership: Work with a team known for delivering fast, high-quality projects nationwide.
  • Career Growth: We invest in long-term professional development for our employees.
  • Culture of Integrity: Join a company built on transparency, ethics, and teamwork.
