Job summary

H2I Group, a leading specialty contractor, seeks a Construction Project Manager to join our Baltimore team. You will own projects from inception to delivery, coordinating with design, procurement, and field teams to meet schedule, budget, and quality goals.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in CM or related field and 3+ years in commercial construction, with strong communication and cost-management skills. U.S. work authorization is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of PM experience in commercial construction.
  • Construction-related certifications and trainings are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam and Vista/Viewpoint preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and project financials.
  • Demonstrated skill in forecasting analysis to identify potential issues.
  • Skilled in coordinating and facilitating meetings.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall project management phases of assigned projects.
  • Develop the project schedule and ensure documents match the contract (drawings, vendor contracts, purchase orders, change orders).
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, estimating, and field/installation teams and maintain open communication with all parties.
  • Provide timely written responses to customer inquiries regarding product, schedule, installation, and vendors.
  • Manage budgets and cost reporting; suggest solutions to variances.
  • Develop and coordinate schedules to ensure on-time completion; manage deliveries and installs.
  • Prepare, submit, verify and track billings; progress payments monthly.
  • Learn specification and technical details of products we distribute and those of competitors.
  • Ensure vendors fulfill obligations; maintain professional relationships; order vendor products per processes.
  • Attend site meetings and maintain customer relations; travel to job sites for coordination meetings.
  • Adhere to safety requirements and report hazards/injuries.
  • Contribute ideas to improve problem solving and gain approvals.
  • Deliver the H2I Group experience on every project.

What does a Project Manager do? They are the main contact between H2I Group and the customer and they are responsible to manage control over all project administration and delivery of customer expectations through collaboration with others in the project team, ensuring compliance, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Our PMs assume ownership of multiple projects and the number is dependent on the size and scope of each project. More specifically, the responsibilities are as follows:

  • Responsible for the overall project management phases of assigned projects.
  • Develops the project schedule and reviews all documents to ensure they match the contract, including, submittal drawings, vendor contracts, purchase orders, change orders, installation schedules, insurance needs, etc.
  • Collaborates and maintains positive relationships with stakeholders such as with sales, engineering, and estimating a field/installation department while maintaining open communication with all parties involved in the project.
  • Provides timely, professional written responses to customers' inquiries concerning the product, schedules, installation, conflicts problems, and vendors.
  • Assumes responsibility and administers cost management and budgets for each project and reviews cost reports against budget and suggests appropriate solutions to resolve variances.
  • Develops and coordinates schedules to ensure projects are completed on time. Including but not limited to product delivery, installation (either in-house or with subcontracted installers), production keeping in mind lead times, site meetings, punch list, phasing, etc.
  • Prepare, submit, obtain approval, verify and track billings until payment is received. Effectively make progress payment requests to eliminate underbilling to the extent possible monthly. First billing is within 60 days of the order entry date.
  • Ability to learn the specification and technical details of the products that H2I Group distributes as well as those of our competition.
  • Ensure vendors on any given project are fulfilling their obligations to H2I Group, Inc, and our customers, while maintaining a professional working relationship with them. Ordering vendor products required per current company processes.
  • Attending site meetings when required (dependent on project) and maintaining customer relations with the site coordinator and other trades.
  • Travel to job sites to inspect work and participate in various meetings such as Trade Coordination meetings, Company presentations, and Installation Coordination meetings as required.
  • All employees are responsible for complying with company procedures and safety requirements including reviewing the work area daily for potential safety and health hazards, reporting potential hazards to their supervisors as well as reporting any work-related injuries or illnesses to their supervisors as well.
  • Our employees are also required to take responsibility for change and suggest innovative ideas to assist in the problem-solving process and gain necessary approvals while doing so.
  • Deliver the H2I Group experience with each project.

We're looking for these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Management or relevant area of study is required or equivalent combination of education and related construction Project Management experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant Project Management experience in commercial construction is required.
  • Construction related certifications and trainings are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of and proficient in using Bluebeam, Vista/Viewpoint is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to manage multiple projects and project financials.
  • Demonstrated skill in analyzing project forecasts against physical completion to identify potential issues.
  • Skilled in coordinating and facilitating meetings.
  • Able to identify and resolve quality and construction issues while resolving disputes quickly and efficiently.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without Visa sponsorship.
