Job summary

S&B Services is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager who is passionate about the construction process to join our Amarillo team.

You will lead preconstruction planning, work with clients and the design team to develop preliminary budgets, oversee subcontractors and vendors, and manage schedules to deliver projects on time and on budget, with local travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Post-graduate internship or related experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of the project from preconstruction through closeout.
• Collaborate with clients and design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget.
• Participate in proposal meetings to review scope, reduce costs, and discuss contracts and fees.
• Oversee subcontractor selection, buyout, and vendor coordination.
• Identify opportunities to procure materials and equipment directly when advantageous.
• Develop and review subcontractor scopes, schedules, and site logistics.
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Chair weekly/bi-weekly on-site meetings to review progress and address challenges.
• Track project performance vs budget; prepare pay apps, cost status, and progress billing.
• Local travel to project sites within the city is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout.
• Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget.
• Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees.
• Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors.
• Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule.
• Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan.
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues.
• Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client.
• Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports.
• Local travel to project sites within the city is required.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering program, Construction Management or related field of study.
• Open to full-time opportunity post-grad.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Prior construction internship experience is a plus.
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus.
