Crane Creek Asphalt in Minnesota is seeking a Construction Project Engineer or Engineer in Training (EIT) to manage field crews and coordinate bids through turnover to the owner. The role spans private, commercial, and public contracts with daily field and office collaboration.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering background, has passed the FE exam, and possesses strong communication skills. The position supports projects in Faribault, Northfield, Owatonna, Waseca and nearby communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Geology or related field preferred.
• EITs must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).
• Effective communication skills and ability to develop relationships with customers and team members.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented and enjoy the entire project process from bidding to turnover.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day project management of crews, equipment, and subcontractors on a wide variety of work from private and commercial contracts to state and federal contracts.
• Meet with owners/engineers to understand scope and design projects; perform quantity take-offs and bid preparation.
• Coordinate with management, production crews and quality control to ensure high-quality products and services.
• Follow safety programs and policies to mitigate risk and improve project productivity.
