Job summary

AECOM Hunt in the United States is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to be based in Chicago-area locations. The role begins Summer 2027 and requires supporting the Project Management team by overseeing administration tasks, submittals, and coordination with the field team.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field, internship or live-site experience, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM/CE/SE/ME or similar discipline.
• Internship or live-site construction experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating with multiple trades on a construction project.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Management with construction administration tasks.
• Prepare subcontractor reports to inform Supervisor and Client.
• Participate in site visits and support the superintendent.
• Review and submit documents for approval (Submittals/RFIs).
• Assist with project costs and scheduling to meet budget and contract.
• Maintain information flow using document control & PM systems.
• Attend meetings and report on project tasks.

Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Construction Project Engineering to be based in the following locations: Chicago, IL, Jacksonville, FL, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Hebron, KY, Indianapolis, IN, Greenwood, IN. Nashville, TN, Tampa, FL. This position is expected to begin in Summer 2027.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting the Project Management team by overseeing construction administration tasks
• Preparing subcontractor reports as needed to keep Supervisor and Client informed of ongoing progress
• Participating in site visits. Coordinating and assisting superintendent as required
• Receiving, reviewing and submitting documents for approval (Submittals/ RFIs/ etc.)
• Assisting project manager costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contract
• Working with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate
• Attending meetings and reporting on project tasks as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidate must have completed Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and/or similar discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Prior Internship experience within the construction industry.
• Experience working on a live construction site.
• Experience engaging with multiple trades on a construction project.
