Job summary

Eastern is looking for a motivated Project Engineer in Duluth, Georgia, to support construction projects from inception to completion. The Project Engineer will assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities while maintaining project documentation and fostering effective communication.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field, have 1-3 years of experience, and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role.
  • Understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • 10-Hour OSHA training required, with 30-Hour completion within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and coordinating construction activities.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
  • Support cost tracking and assist with monthly owner billing.
  • Conduct site inspections and foster clear communication among stakeholders.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. The Project Engineer will work closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that all aspects of the project are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved in diverse construction projects and to grow within a collaborative and fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and daily reports.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Support cost tracking and forecasting efforts; assist in reviewing invoices and managing procurement processes. Assist with monthly owner billing.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist the Superintendent in implementing and maintaining the on‑site safety program, including safety inspections and MSDS manual.
  • Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site inspections to assess progress, identify issues, and support field teams when requested.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate clear and consistent communication among all project stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Work with Superintendent and Project Manager to identify potential risks and issues early. Propose effective solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Technology Integration: Support the implementation and use of construction technology tools to enhance project efficiency and data accuracy.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Understand construction drawings, specifications, and engineering principles.
  • Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, and Scheduling Software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and attention to detail in all aspects of project execution.
  • Proven problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Works well and thrives in dynamic team environments and communicates effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 1‑3 years of experience as project engineer or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with pre‑construction, scope development and cost estimating.
  • Experience with commercial construction projects.
  • 10‑Hr OSHA Training (Obtain 30‑Hr within the first 6 months as part of hiring orientation).
