Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Washington, DC is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to support the delivery of interior corporate construction projects for a financial services client. You will work with project teams, vendors, and accounting to manage documentation, budgets, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires 5+ years of construction or accounting experience, strong communication, and solid MS Office skills.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of practical experience in construction or accounting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of construction methodologies from concept to closeout.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication between project teams, stakeholders, vendors, and clients to align on updates and changes.
  • Maintain and organize project documentation, including contracts, change orders, financial reports, and progress updates.
  • Process and record daily financial transactions while maintaining accurate and compliant records.
  • Partner with Accounting, Design, and Construction teams to support project financial tracking and reporting.
  • Review and process project budgets, vendor proposals, bids, invoices, and change orders in PMWeb and other systems.
  • Verify accuracy of project costs against approved budgets and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with vendor agreements, affidavits, and lien waiver documentation.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Utilize project management tools and Microsoft Office to track activities and reporting requirements.

What this job involves:

As a Construction Project Coordinator, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of corporate interior construction projects for a financial services client. Working closely with project teams, vendors, accounting partners, and stakeholders, you will help manage project documentation, financial processes, communication, and compliance activities throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:
  • Facilitate communication between project teams, stakeholders, vendors, and clients to ensure alignment on project updates and changes.
  • Maintain and organize project documentation, including contracts, change orders, financial reports, and progress updates.
  • Process and record daily financial transactions while maintaining accurate and compliant financial records.
  • Partner with Accounting, Design, and Construction teams to support project financial tracking and reporting.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of practical experience in construction or accounting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Understanding of construction methodologies and the various phases of construction from concept through closeout.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and collaborate effectively across multiple teams and projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management (Or 5+ years of practical experience in construction or accounting).
  • Familiarity with GMP contracts and other construction contract types.
  • Experience using PMWeb or similar project management software.
