Job summary

Apollo Mechanical Contractors is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations for our Central Oregon/Bend team. This leadership role combines strong operational judgment with urgency, accountability, supplier management, and a drive to help project teams succeed.

The role encompasses sourcing, buyout planning, supplier risk management, and ensuring material availability to protect field execution. Collaboration with project teams is essential to optimize total project impact.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, construction, manufacturing, project management, or related operational environment.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Strong commercial judgment and negotiation ability.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing and procurement activities for the Central Oregon region.
• Develop and support buyers and other procurement personnel.
• Establish expectations around responsiveness, accountability, follow-through, accuracy, and customer service.
• Partner with project managers, engineers, estimators, operations, and field teams on procurement strategy.
• Support project buyouts and major sourcing decisions.
• Identify long-lead materials and procurement risks early.
• Maintain visibility into critical orders, supplier commitments, and material availability.
• Negotiate and maintain productive supplier relationships.
• Improve procurement processes, tools, and workflows.
