Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Observe construction activities to verify compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and contract requirements.
- Monitor installation of water and wastewater infrastructure, including pipelines, lift stations, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
- Document daily activities, site conditions, project progress, quantities, and testing results.
- Prepare field reports, photographs, inspection records, and project logs.
- Identify and report deficiencies, non-conforming work, safety concerns, and potential project impacts.
- Support contractor coordination, progress meetings, and communication among project stakeholders.
- Observe testing, startup, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
- Verify compliance with environmental regulations, permit requirements, and quality standards.
- Assist with payment verification, punch lists, and corrective action tracking.
- Travel to project sites as required.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Environmental Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection, field observation, or wastewater infrastructure experience.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic reporting systems.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with contractors, clients, and project teams.
- Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments and travel between project sites.
- Curiosity and interest in continuous learning in AI and comfort experimenting and iterating quickly; uses data to validate ideas and measure impact.
- Commitment to ethical and responsible AI adoption, including privacy-by-design and safe use of tools.
