Timmons Group is always accepting applications for Construction Materials Testing Technicians to join our Geotechnical and Construction Services Group located in our Raleigh, NC office for future opportunities. Under the direction of the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager, the Construction Materials Testing Technician applies learned skills and technical ability to observe and test various materials associated with site, road, and building construction by performing assigned duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform field materials testing of soil, asphalt, and concrete under the supervision of senior engineering staff.
• Prepare detailed field reports with test results, observations, and recommendations.
• Review project plans and specifications prior to construction to understand project details and requirements.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and document results.
• Ensure testing equipment is in proper working condition.
• Maintain necessary certifications as required by senior engineering staff.
• Assist with geotechnical investigations and site evaluations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding construction issues.

Skills/Qualifications include but are not limited to:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of related experience or training preferred.
• ACI certification for concrete is a plus but not required.
• NCDOT certifications for soils, concrete, and asphalt are a plus but not required.
• Training on field and office testing equipment is required.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, and manuals.
• Strong report writing and mathematical skills.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various documents.
