About this position

Legacy Engineering, P.C., is a small, woman-owned civil engineering firm specializing in land development design, geotechnical services, construction materials testing and inspections along with surveying and consulting. We are headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia and proudly serve clients throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond.

We are looking for a Construction Field Technician Trainee to join our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) team. This is a hands‑on, outdoor position working on active construction sites to help verify that roads, buildings, and infrastructure are built correctly.

We are hiring for both Full-Time and Part-Time positions.

No prior testing experience is required — we provide training and pay for industry certifications.

What You’ll Do

• Travel to construction sites in the Fredericksburg region to perform field testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials

What We’re Looking For

• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

Previous construction experience is helpful but not required.

Employees in this role will have the opportunity to obtain industry certifications including ACI, VDOT, OSHA, and other professional testing credentials, all provided by the company.

Compensation range for this position is $18 to $23/Hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.
