Job summary

Terracon in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa is seeking a Construction Materials Technician to perform observations and tests on soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel and asphalt. You will work with Project Managers and client representatives to communicate testing results.

You will receive in-depth technical training and pursue professional certifications as you advance over 1-2 years. A safety‑first culture, with Incident and Injury-Free focus, underpins all projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Complete internal safety and technical certifications as required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tasks and perform basic sample tests and observation of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel and asphalt.
• Document and prepare sample testing data; submit findings to Project Manager.
• Effectively communicate testing and inspection results.
• Progressively assume increased training and responsibilities in work assignments.
• Ensure testing equipment and tools are calibrated and maintained.
