Job summary

ECS Limited in Charlotte seeks a Construction Materials Testing Staff Project Manager to join our field services team and grow in a dynamic environment. No experience required as you’ll learn how to manage diverse projects under senior managers and engineers.

You’ll support project management, budgets, invoicing, and change orders while training for licensure and advancing your career with internal certification opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Construction Engineering, Materials Science, Architectural Engineering, or Geology.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Willing to obtain licensure (EIT, PE) for growth.
  • Interest in project management, consulting and business development.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Understanding of heavy construction safety and ASTM/CMT norms.

Responsibilities

  • Support management of CMT projects, including daily report review and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with senior staff and train field personnel on projects.
  • Manage project budgets, prepare invoices, change orders, and aid collection efforts.
  • Assist with preparation of project proposals and related tasks.
  • Participate in testing activities for soils, concrete and asphalt as needed.

Responsibilities

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Staff Project Manager to join our Charlotte field services team and advance in a dynamic work environment. No experience is required as you'll learn how to successfully manage a variety of projects under the guidance of senior project managers and engineers.

  • Tasks supporting the management of construction materials testing projects, including daily report review, collaborating with senior staff, providing resolutions of issues as they arise, and training field staff on your projects.
  • Manage project budgets, prepare invoices, change orders, and assist with collection efforts.
  • Assist with preparation of proposals for projects.
  • Other duties may include assisting with or performing the following: laboratory testing, soil classification, and testing of soils, foundations, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, structural steel, and fireproofing and asphalt pavement, as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience
  • Bachelor of Science in any of the following: Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Geology; Note: Construction Management degrees and certain Technology degrees may not be considered.
  • Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Willing to obtain advanced licensure to ensure growth (EIT, PE, etc).
  • Interest in project management, consulting, and business development.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Sound understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
  • Functional knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors.
