Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a motivated Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician for our Fort Worth team. No prior experience is required as you’ll learn under experienced mentors to safely perform a variety of tasks.

You’ll conduct field testing, sampling, and data collection on soils, aggregates, and concrete, with guidance from project managers and senior technicians. Strong safety awareness and willingness to obtain CMT knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and follow all laws.
• Willing to develop knowledge of CMT concepts and ASTM standards; OSHA 10 may be required.

Responsibilities

• Field activities: observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete at project sites.
• Perform routine field and laboratory tests per industry standards.
• Collect data, perform calculations, and assist with drafting and administrative tasks.
• Maintain communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; report changing conditions.
• Receive training in ECS methods and document findings with accuracy.

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Fort Worth team and advance in a dynamic work environment. No prior experience is needed, as you'll work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn to safely perform a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials, including soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction materials testing project sites; Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers.
• Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspection; May assist with calculations, drafting, and other administrative duties as requested.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; Communicate changing site conditions and additional requested testing to supervisor; Attend project meetings as requested; Assist with organization of field equipment and notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment as needed.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; Document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

• No experience required.

• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.
