Job summary

Overview

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Coshocton team and advance in a dynamic work environment. No prior experience is needed, as you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn how to safely perform a variety of tasks. Training is provided, and certification fees are covered.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials including soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites; execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers.
• Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using various methodologies and equipment in accordance with industry standards and compliance.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspection; assist with calculations, drafting, and other administrative duties as requested.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; report changing site conditions and additional requested testing to supervisor; attend project meetings as requested; assist with organization of field equipment and report broken or missing equipment as needed.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.
