Job summary

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is seeking an entry-level field/lab technician to assist with construction materials testing and observation in Chantilly, VA. You will help document site conditions, organize equipment, and perform data entry as part of project teams.

The role offers hands-on training in soils, concrete, asphalt and other materials testing. Ideal candidates are pursuing a Civil Engineering degree, with strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work outdoors and in a laboratory

Qualifications

• 0 years of related experience
• Actively pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Certifications: one within 90 days, all basic certs within 270 days
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Dependable, detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work outdoors and in laboratories

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction materials testing and observation in field and lab
• Observe soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials testing
• Support documentation of site conditions and test results
• Assist with organizing and preparing field and lab equipment
• Perform basic data entry and documentation tasks
• Collaborate with technicians and project teams to support execution
• Participate in field and lab workflows to gain practical experience
• Help maintain clean and organized work areas
• Perform other duties as assigned
