Job summary

ECS Limited in Greensboro is offering an entry-level Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Assistant Staff Project Manager position. You will work under experienced professionals to learn field tasks and the early stages of project management.

No prior experience is required; a BS in a related field is expected, with the ability to obtain licensure. You will gain field testing experience across soils, aggregates, concrete, and other materials while supporting client communication.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Degree with the ability to obtain PE/PG licensure.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Interest in project management and consulting.
• Knowledge of CMT principles and ASTM standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff with field tasks supporting various CMT projects; some office work as you learn.
• Field testing of soils, aggregates, foundations, concrete, masonry, steel, asphalt and fireproofing.
• Document site observations and results in daily reports using proprietary CMT software.
• Interact with colleagues and clients; keep project team informed of changing site conditions and testing requests; attend meetings.
• Begin to learn how to classify soil.

Responsibilities

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Assistant Staff Project Manager to join our Greensboro team and advance in a dynamic work environment. No prior experience is needed, as you'll work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn to safely perform a variety of tasks, including field work alongside other staff members and the early stages of project management.

• Assisting staff with field tasks supporting various construction materials testing projects; Some office work may be performed as you begin to learn about the life cycle of the project.
• Field testing of materials including soils and aggregate, foundations, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, structural steel, asphalt pavement, and fireproofing.
• Document site observations and results in daily reports using proprietary software for construction materials testing (CMT) projects.
• Interact and collaborate with colleagues and clients, including keeping entire project team informed of changing site conditions and additional testing requested on project sites; May require attending project meetings as requested.
• Begin to learn how to classify soil.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• No experience required.
• Bachelor of Science in any of the following: Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Geology; Note: Construction Management degrees and certain Technology degrees may not be considered; Role requires a degree with the ability to obtain advanced licensure (Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), etc).
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Interest in project management, consulting, and business development.
• Functional knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Sound understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
