Overview

Construction Manager, New Restaurant Openings (Western US - Remote)

Join to apply for the Construction Manager, New Restaurant Openings (Western US - Remote) role at Inspire.

The Construction Manager will be responsible for ensuring the progress of new restaurant franchise projects through the entire process from site selection to opening by providing guidance and support to franchisees; managing outside vendors; managing schedules, validating cost and quality of projects; and reporting status of sites in-process to internal partners. The Construction Manager will work both directly and indirectly with multiple other functions inside and outside of the Development Team, including real estate, design, procurement, operations, and technology. This is a Remote position and will sit in the Western part of the continental United States. Preferred locations include California, Colorado, Nevada or Pacific Northwest.

Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Directs and leads multiple construction projects within a designated territory, including project management, planning, budgeting, FF&E, execution, vendor selection/management, quality control, and resource management. Acts as company liaison to Franchisees, contractors and vendors, keeps them on schedule, holds them accountable, and takes appropriate action in a timely manner to maintain proper project planning.
  • Project Support: Provides guidance and support to franchisees on project-specific costs, LL Work Letter and LOI obligations; completes timely and accurate risk assessments on the construction timeline; pro-actively communicates issues and concerns; obtains project cost information from Franchisee once the project is complete.
  • Schedule Tracking: Manages all project schedules by tracking against defined timelines; provides timely and accurate updates within Inspire Brands development tracking systems; communicates with key project stakeholder teams to coordinate and report all aspects of the schedule.
  • Brand Standards: Ensures quality control and adherence to brand-specific design and construction standards for Franchise locations; identifies potential issues and collaborates with design groups for feedback on prototype plans.
  • Meetings And Communications: Participates in Brand Leadership team meetings and collaborates with Operations, Franchising and Real Estate to support opening new locations for Inspire Brands chains.
  • SIP Meetings: Participates in construction meetings with the team to ensure up-to-date data and milestone achievement.
  • Special Projects: Participates in or handles special projects assigned by Department Leadership in conjunction with Inspire and Brand Leadership.
Education & Qualifications
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Business Administration preferred
  • Required Minimum: 5-10 years’ experience in general construction (non-residential) and construction project management. Preferred: 10 years of experience in restaurant / retail construction management in a Franchise Organization
Required Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
  • Experience in project management (construction)
  • Detailed knowledge of supporting technology, budgeting, estimating, scheduling
  • Strong relationship and influencing skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and cloud-based project tracking solutions
  • Working knowledge of building codes, ADA, federal and state requirements
  • Ability to navigate / work with regulatory agencies
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Persistent, detailed, and able to report clearly and accurately
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in an aggressive time-sensitive environment
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Ability to determine key steps in complex processes to advance projects
  • Self-motivated with a tenacious attitude for solving problems
Decision-Making Authority
  • Final approval of contractors, architects, engineers, and other consultants to the construction process
