Sundt Construction in Phoenix seeks a Construction Manager II to assist the Project Manager in planning, directing and delivering assigned construction projects, ensuring client satisfaction and financial outcomes. The ideal candidate will coordinate contracts, drawings and specifications for timely, efficient project completion.

Experience with self-perform crews on large industrial projects and involvement in schedules and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• 1. 10+ years and $100M minimum project site experience.
• 2. Knowledge of PMP components including scope, procurement, environmental, time, financial, quality, safety and risk management.
• 3. Four-year construction degree or equivalent training plus 6+ years of construction industry experience.
• 4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project scheduling software.
• 5. Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• 6. Strong interpersonal skills and cross-functional leadership.
• 7. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• 1. Direct and coordinate staff for project management and profitability.

• 7. Participate in form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, and utilities.
• 8. Track daily budgets and weekly labor costs to meet targets.

Job Summary

The Construction Manager II is responsible for assisting their assigned Project Manager in the planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction, and financial outcome of assigned construction projects. The ideal candidate will be required to assist their assigned Project Manager in coordinating all contractual requirements, design drawings, and project specifications and ensure all other Project Management objectives are achieved in a timely and efficient manner.

Ideal candidate will have experience with managing self-perform crews and large scale industrial projects, experience with mechanical process piping, infrastructure, and assist with project schedules

Key Responsibilities

• 1.Assist the Project Manager in directing and coordinating staff for management of contracted projects, ensuring proper staffing while maintaining profitability for Sundt Construction.
• 2.Communicate with crews and field managers to ensure all projects are administered and completed within guidelines, budgets, and work hours.
• 3.Develops an understanding of the prime contract, subcontracts, purchase order agreements, and allowance items as well as contract drawings and specifications. Administers elements of the processes involved in budgeting and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget. Demonstrates business acumen within area of responsibility.
• 4.Ensure safety on every project by enforcing safety training and meetings, as well as consistently monitoring job sites for potential safety hazards.
• 5.Establish and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients and provide assistance to clients for any potential and existing problems.
• 6.Help plan, direct, coordinate and motivate employees to achieve goals and objectives and effectively resolve complaints and issues.
• 7.May participate in concrete form design and related equipment selection and will participates in takeoffs for concrete, asphalt concrete, earthwork, and utilities as required.
• 8.Monitor daily budget goals and weekly labor cost analysis for each project and make appropriate changes to meet budget and cost guidelines.
• 9.Plans, acquires, develops and supervises members of the project team to ensure relentless execution of the project.

Minimum Job Requirements

• 1.10+ Years, $100M minimum Project Site experience.
• 2.Demonstrates an understanding of the components of the project management plan (PMP) including the project scope management plan, procurement plan, environmental plan, time management plan, financial plan, quality management and safety plans and risk management plan to ensure successful project execution. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the change management process.
• 3.Four-year construction related degree or equivalent technical training and related experience, plus a minimum of 6+ years of experience in the construction industry.
• 4.Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs and project scheduling software.
• 5.Proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
• 6.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams.
• 7.Superior communication and organization development skills.
