Job summary

Vanir Construction Management, Inc. is seeking qualified Construction Managers for a general application across the U.S. West locations including Sacramento, San Francisco and Los Angeles. This is a full-time, on-site role aimed at guiding projects from inception through turnover.

The Construction Manager will provide onsite leadership, ensure budget adherence, manage schedule and design conformance, and supervise field staff and subcontractors to meet contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is required (extensive experience may substitute).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Manager is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction estimating, cost controls and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project stays on budget and schedule, design fits contract requirements.

The Construction Manager provides the onsite leadership, coordination, and direction for construction management activities. Duties include ensuring the project is on budget, schedule, and the design fits the requirements for the contract. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Providing construction management services on projects
• Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements
• Responsible as onsite liaison with contractor and oversight of progress of construction
• Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
• Manage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures or as required by the client
• Conduct project meetings and provide meeting minutes, documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information
• Ensure contractors, architects, and engineers will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment
• Provide management of project logistics, organization and safety
• Ensure project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for turnover to the owner, including closeout requirements
• Perform other duties as required to ensure project success

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is required (Extensive relevant construction management experience in place of education may be considered)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Manager is required
• Ability to handle multiple contractors and multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously is required
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required
• Knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices are required
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related Construction Management systems are preferred
• Certified Construction Manager preferred
