Construction Manager/Foreman
Location: Tye, Texas (Travel Required) Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to oversee field operations on large-scale construction projects. This individual will be responsible for leading field personnel, coordinating daily construction activities, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with quality standards.
This position is best suited for someone who enjoys working in the field, leading teams, solving problems, and driving projects to completion. Experience within data center construction, structured cabling, telecommunications, or fiber infrastructure is beneficial but not required. Candidates with strong construction leadership experience will also be considered.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day construction activities across active project sites.
- Lead and coordinate construction crews, subcontractors, and field personnel to maintain productivity and project schedules.
- Oversee teams performing cable pulling, structured cabling, fiber installation, copper installation, rack installation, splicing, material handling, and related construction activities.
- Supervise crews ranging from approximately 30 employees to larger operations involving more than 100 personnel.
- Monitor project progress and adjust manpower as needed to maintain production goals.
- Conduct routine quality inspections to verify work meets project specifications and company standards.
- Address field issues, staffing challenges, and productivity concerns while implementing corrective actions.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and labor resources to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Communicate project status, staffing updates, scheduling needs, and operational issues with project leadership.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and project management tools to track manpower, schedules, and project progress.
- Support workforce planning through scheduling and project tracking applications.
- Promote a safe work environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and job-site safety requirements.
- Travel to project locations as business needs require.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience managing construction projects or supervising large field operations.
- Demonstrated success leading crews of 30+ employees while supporting larger multi-team operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage schedules, prioritize work, and maintain project momentum.
- Experience holding employees accountable for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Comfortable spending the majority of the workday in active construction environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction/project tracking software.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Willingness to travel or temporarily relocate based on project assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction management or field supervision experience.
- Data center construction experience.
- Structured cabling, telecommunications, fiber optic, copper, or low-voltage infrastructure experience.
- Experience leading cable pullers, installers, splicers, material management teams, or safety personnel.
- Familiarity with workforce scheduling or construction management software.
- Experience managing projects from mobilization through completion.
What a Typical Day Looks Like
This is a highly hands-on leadership position where you'll spend the majority of your day in the field supporting active construction operations.
Daily responsibilities may include:
- Leading construction crews throughout the workday.
- Monitoring installation progress and production goals.
- Performing field walks and quality inspections.
- Resolving operational and personnel issues.
- Adjusting manpower and priorities to maintain project schedules.
- Coordinating with project leadership regarding staffing, scheduling, and project progress.
- Ensuring safety standards and quality expectations are consistently met.
