Responsibilities

• Oversee controls subcontractor installation work daily to ensure schedule, startup, and commissioning.
• Interface between Area Construction Managers and subcontractors to coordinate Mechanical/Electrical startups.
• Coordinate Building Automated Control Systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements.
• Organize and facilitate training of control personnel in operations and maintenance of BAC systems.
• Participate in startup meetings involving multiple stakeholders to coordinate MEP startup activities.
• Review and process project submittal information and assist with coordination between submittals.
• Receive and distribute RFIs and change documents.
• Field survey of control lines and benchmarks.
• Assist in estimating BAC systems budgets and staffing.
• Secure subcontracts and equipment buyout; manage contracts and modifications.
• Oversee billing and schedule of values for BAC subcontractors and vendors.

Job description

The Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Construction Manager will work within the Construction Management Department and will report to the Project Manager. They will work closely with design professionals, clients, subcontractors, and craftspeople to address complex civil, architectural, and structural coordination issues. The I&C Construction Manager will participate in design and constructability reviews and lead our onsite quality control program for the controls scope of work, which will include document review during preconstruction through commissioning and punch list. This position will be fully at the project site in Boise, ID.

Salary Range:$90,000 - $150,000 annually

Essential Responsibilities:

• Oversee controls subcontractor installation work daily to ensure they are maintaining their installation schedule, support system startup, and commissioning activities.
• Interface between Area Construction Managers and multiple subcontractors to assist in coordinating Mechanical/Electrical startups.
• CoordinateBuilding Automated Control Systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements within the overall project design.
• Organize and facilitate training of control personnel in the operations and maintenance of Building Automated Control Systems.
• Participate in startup meetings involving Area Construction Managers, Design Team members,multiplesubcontractors, local utility agencies,and owners to coordinate/ driveMEP system start up activities.
• Review and processproject submittal information and assist Project Engineers with the coordination betweenmultiplesubmittalstoensurethe accuracy and functionality of each component of the Building Automated Control Systems with the variousMEP systems.
• Receive and distributerequestsfor information(RFI) and change documents issued by otherteam members.
• Field survey of control lines and benchmarks.
• Assist in estimating Building Automated Control Systems budgets and managing Building Automated Control Systems team project staffing.
• Secure Building Automated Control Systems subcontractors and equipment buyout and manage Building Automated Control Systems subcontractors contracts and contract modifications.
• Oversee billing and schedule of values for Building Automated Control Systems subcontractors and vendors.

Qualifications:

Professional Experience and Education

• A minimum of five (5) years of building automated control system construction experience required.
• Extensive experience in industrial and/or hi-tech semiconductor manufacturing projects is required.
• Experience working in a live high tech facility required.
• LEED Accredited Professional, or the ability to become accredited within eighteen (18) months preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent degree and/or equivalent field work experience required.
• Education background in materials and methods of construction.

Position Related Skills

• Experience working in cleanroom environments.
• Proficient inWindows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams),and have a general understanding of working within a computer network.
• Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
• Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
• Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method. Familiar with CSI specification system forconstruction.
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of all aspects of building automated control system construction.
• Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
• Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude through high-pressure situations.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.

• Work schedule must be flexible to allow extended hours or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction schedule and sequences.

• Sight: Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus in an outdoor environment. Must be able to safely operate a vehicle with a valid driver's license.
