Our integrated approach spans power generation, battery energy storage, renewables, transmission, substation, and underground infrastructure — from concept to commissioning, we execute complex power infrastructure projects with the speed, certainty, and operational excellence our customers depend on.

At Quanta Power Solutions, we are driven by a culture of safety, integrity, and disciplined execution — and we're building a team that shares that commitment.

About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Construction Operations Manager to provide on-site leadership, coordination, and execution oversight for large-scale power generation EPC projects, including Simple Cycle, Combined Cycle, and other thermal generation facilities. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of construction execution, from civil and structural activities through mechanical completion, commissioning, and plant startup.

The Construction Operations Manager works closely with project management, engineering, subcontractors, craft labor, and commissioning teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements and quality standards.

What You'll Do
  • Lead field execution activities for large-scale power generation projects, including Simple Cycle and Combined Cycle power plants
  • Work closely with project managers, discipline superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure construction activities align with project scope, schedule, budget, and operational objectives
  • Integrate safety into every phase of project execution while reinforcing safety expectations across all site personnel and subcontractors
  • Direct and coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, instrumentation, and startup activities throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee installation and construction of major power generation equipment, including gas turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), generators, balance-of-plant systems, cooling systems, and associated plant infrastructure
  • Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, material management, and subcontractor performance to achieve contractual and financial objectives
  • Lead daily and weekly coordination meetings with site leadership, subcontractors, owners, and commissioning personnel
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues, manage field changes, and support constructability reviews
  • Evaluate project progress against milestones, schedules, budgets, and key performance indicators
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, quality, regulatory, and safety requirements throughout all construction activities
  • Support mechanical completion, system turnover, commissioning, startup, performance testing, and final project closeout activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned while adhering to company standards, policies, and procedures
  • Travel to project sites, field offices, customer facilities, and vendor locations as required

  • Experience overseeing multidisciplinary construction teams including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, instrumentation, and controls scopes
  • Thorough understanding of project scheduling, cost control, subcontract management, safety programs, quality assurance, and construction planning
  • Proven ability to lead large field organizations in fast-paced EPC environments while balancing competing priorities
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform physical activities including lifting up to 20 pounds, standing, walking, bending, climbing, stretching, and crawling in both office and field environments
