Job summary

Cordoba Corporation, a leading civil engineering and program management firm in California, is seeking a Construction Manager for a flagship educational facility project at Long Beach Community College District. Lead a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage a $60M project and related campus initiatives onsite.

The role requires 15+ years in educational/DSA/public works, strong negotiations, and Procore expertise, with a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

  • 15 years’ experience in Educational, DSA, Commercial, Healthcare, or Public Works projects.
  • Construction Management, Engineering or Architectural background with strong emphasis in the construction phase of projects.
  • Capable of managing projects from inception to construction to closeout.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changes in the bond program needs.
  • Outstanding negotiations, communication, and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience with field construction management and changes in the work.
  • Proficiency in Construction Management PMIS software like Procore or similar.
  • Knowledge of Building Codes and Regulations to ensure compliance with all safety and legal standards
  • Strong Organizational Skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills to quickly address and resolve issues that arise during construction.

  • Risk Management: Identifies and mitigates potential risks to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Contract Management: Reviews and negotiates terms of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensures that all construction work-in-place meets district's quality standards and project plans & specifications.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinates with architects, engineers, laboratory inspections, and other construction specialists to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Safety Oversight: Implements and enforces district's safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Manages and is responsible for day-to-day owner's representative processes of the construction and closeout phases of the assigned project valued at $60M construction value.
  • Manages all financial, reporting, communications, operations, coordination, and general administrative needs of the assigned projects.

The project will focus on a large educational facility construction phase at Long Beach Community College District. With your extensive experience in higher education construction management, DSA, public works and exceptional communication skills, you will lead a talented team, coordinate with diverse stakeholders, and contribute to management and delivery of a $60M instructional facility plus other smaller related campus projects in the Long Beach community.   • Manages and is responsible for day-to-day owner's representative processes of the construction and closeout phases of the assigned project valued at $60M construction value.This includes tracking and responding to all RFIs, Submittal & Shop Drawing approvals, change management process, inspection coordination, schedule management, pay application management, and coordination and approval from all relevant Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Manages all financial, reporting, communications, operations, coordination, and general administrative needs of the assigned projects.
Qualifications

  • Construction Management, Engineering or Architectural background with strong emphasis in the construction phase of projects.

  • Certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are highly desirable.
  • Long Beach experience preferred
  • Higher-Education, DSA, or DSA-equivalent experience preferred.

Salary Range: $170,000 to $190,000 per year.

Location: Long Beach, California.

Work Environment: 100% Onsite
