We take pride in our work and our ability to provide opportunities for our teams, support each other’s growth, and look ahead to what’s next. When you join AKS, you will find opportunities to take ownership of meaningful projects, learn, lead, and make an impact from day one.

If you’re passionate about leading energy projects, solving complex problems, and working closely with clients and contractors to deliver successful outcomes, this role will give you the opportunity to take ownership of major projects and make a tangible impact. As a Project Manager at AKS, you’ll guide project execution, mentor teams, and help ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, and on budget.

What You’ll Do
Client and Partner Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and contractors, leveraging those connections to support project growth.
  • Think and act like an owner, making strategic decisions that positively impact project outcomes and earnings.
Project Planning and Oversight
  • Advise during pre‑construction phases on planning, logistics, and strategy.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure project alignment and smooth execution.
  • Attend meetings with clients, partners, and contractors to address challenges and provide solutions.
Construction Management
  • Oversee the Owner’s scope of work, equipment schedules, and coordination with EPC contractors.
  • Review EPC design deliverables, integration documents, and site plans to ensure clear definitions and minimize gaps.
  • Manage all contractors and subcontractors, including QA, environmental monitoring, compliance, and onsite coordination.
  • Lead contract management, change order processes, and resolution of disputes with a collaborative approach.
Risk, Safety, and Compliance
  • Maintain the project risk registry and identify opportunities, including value engineering.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed, conduct ad‑hoc safety audits, and maintain compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor submittals, RFIs, and onsite issues, escalating to the Owner only when necessary.
Reporting and Communication
  • Lead project status calls, create reports, and communicate progress to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with EPC partners to ensure timely delivery and compliance with energy tax abatements or other regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead project team calls, create agendas, track tasks, and ensure timely completion.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities for onsite teams and project staff.
  • Identify staffing needs and coordinate with leadership to ensure project success.
Who You Are
  • 8+ years of experience managing the construction of major energy projects (solar, PV, BESS, wind preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Skilled in project and construction management, contract administration, and team leadership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • OSHA 30 safety certified and committed to maintaining safe job sites.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Strong communicator who can manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • You have a "Do what needs to be done" mindset, taking ownership beyond assigned tasks and stepping in wherever needed to keep projects, teams, and customers supported and running smoothly.
Nice to Have
  • PMI or CMAA certification.
  • Experience with utility‑scale energy projects, EPCM contracts, or renewable energy development.
  • Familiarity with permitting, regulatory compliance, and RETA (Renewable Energy Tax Abatements).
