Job summary

Freese and Nichols in Houston, TX is seeking a Construction Manager to lead multiple water and wastewater treatment construction projects. You will provide technical direction, oversee field operations, coordinate with owners, contractors and design teams, and manage risk, quality and schedules from preconstruction through closeout.

The ideal candidate has a BS in a related field and 10+ years in construction management, with staff supervision and PMIS proficiency. A PE/CCM/CCCA is preferred.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of construction experience as a construction manager or superintendent.
  • Experience supervising staff and leading teams on multiple projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with PMIS and MS Word/Excel; able to coordinate scheduling and documentation.
  • Understanding of alternate project delivery methods and complex project coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead construction management for multiple complex water and wastewater projects, coordinating teams, contractors and owners.
  • Oversee construction administration: changes, field orders, schedules, submittals, RFIs, claims and closeout.
  • Direct construction activities including process systems, piping, structures, equipment, electrical and instrumentation.
  • Manage risks, issues, schedules, and ensure conformance to plans and contract requirements.
  • Develop staff through coaching and performance feedback; coordinate staffing across projects.
  • Partner with owners and design teams to manage sequencing, shutdowns and interfaces with active operations.

As Construction Manager, you will lead multiple complex water and wastewater treatment construction projects while providing technical direction and people leadership to construction teams.
