We have a vast and ever-evolving portfolio of brands primed to play an important part in everything from modernizing infrastructure around the world to enabling the next generation of electric and autonomous vehicles.We are currently looking for a Construction Manager to join us at our facility in Front Royal, Virginia.In this role, you will lead and coordinate on-site construction activities supporting capital projects and major maintenance initiatives within a large-scale manufacturing environment. As the primary liaison between Axalta construction teams, project leaders, and third-party contractors, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position is ideal for a construction leader with extensive industrial construction or plant maintenance experience and a passion for driving safety, operational excellence, and team development.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the on-site Axalta Construction Team, including mechanical and electrical construction crews.Coordinate construction activities with Project Team Leads (PTLs) to support project timelines and business objectives.Oversee capital project construction and major maintenance projects involving new equipment installations and system upgrades.Serve as the primary site contact and field administrator for third-party construction contractors.Promote and maintain a Goal Zero safety culture while ensuring compliance with all company safety standards and permitting requirements.Monitor project execution to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.Review contractor change orders and support cost management initiatives.Ensure proper labor charging and resource allocation for construction activities.Establish performance expectations, provide coaching, and support employee development.Monitor team performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.Coordinate construction activities to minimize disruptions to manufacturing operations.Participate in constructability reviews and provide input during FEL and detailed design phases.Support continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives.Review drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure successful project execution.Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and site stakeholders to ensure equipment and systems are installed correctly and integrated effectively.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.10 plus years of industrial construction experience.5 plus years of people management and leadership experience required.Strong knowledge of industrial construction safety programs and permitting systems.Experience with General Work, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, and Crane Lift permitting.Strong project management capabilities, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, safety procedures, and project documentation.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as business needs require.Preferred Skills:OSHA 30 Certification.Experience managing construction activities within a chemical, coatings, manufacturing, or industrial facility.Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar project scheduling software.Experience working within SAP, including maintenance and project-related transactions.Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean/Kaizen methodologies.Strong contractor management and stakeholder relationship skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Experience with SAP.Microsoft Project or related scheduling software preferred.Ability to analyze project costs, schedules, and resource utilization.Axalta operates its business in two segments: Performance Coatings and Mobility Coatings, which serve four end markets, including Refinish, Industrial, Light Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle, across North America, EMEA, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
